The Excursion will take place in the evening of DAY3 (Wednesday, February 28th). Each participant can join one of the following 3 options:

Option 1 - Treasure hunt through the city
On this interactive treasure hunt you will move through Cologne in teams. By answering questions, solving riddles and mastering different challenges you will get to know different parts of the city, its history and culture in an exciting and fun way. After all teams finished their tasks, you will get together and present your results to find out the winner of the game!

Option 2 - Brewery tour
On this tour you will make your way through the old town of Cologne and not only learn about its sights and history but also about its famous beer „Kölsch“. You will get to know the local art of brewing, the history of „Kölsch“ and the traditional food served in breweries — and of course visit some breweries on your way to get a taste of what you just learned.

Option 3 - Carnival tour
Cologne is famous for its carnival — for one week every year the city is full of colourful costumes, parades and celebrations on the streets. The tour will give you an insight of this tradition. You will visit locations which are historically or contemporarily important, hear interesting stories, and find out what makes the carnival in Cologne so special.

On the fourth day of the Spring School, we would like to go out for dinner altogether. In the restaurant Kunstbruder, which is also a gallery and street art shop, you will get an opportunity to see more of Cologne, socialise and discuss with your fellows in an informal ambience.
