Scanning service

We can also create scans of individual essays for you within the scope of copyright law. (maximum 20 pages in total) Please contact us via e-mail: mwi-ausleihe@uni-koeln.de. It is also possible to make scans yourself on site (please bring your own USB stick)

Borrowing media

University members can borrow certain media with a loan period of one week. You are welcome to send us your loan requests in advance by e-mail (mwi-ausleihe@uni-koeln.de). This allows us to check in advance whether the titles are available and can be borrowed. In principle, all monographs and practical editions of sheet music may be borrowed. If a loan is not possible for special reasons (e.g. age of the medium), we will contact you.

NEW: Research in the library magazine

Students of the Institute have the opportunity to conduct on-site research in the library stacks. A short digital introductory course is required for this. If required, please contact the library staff or send us an e-mail.

In order to minimize public traffic in the institute, please continue to try to use the following services for your research:

  • Search the online services of the USB Cologne. There you will also find information on publishers and online platforms that have currently activated their e-media.
  • You can find public domain sheet music via the International Music Score Library Project. (IMSLP, Petrucci Music Library)
